    A Glimpse into the Past

Canfranc station, completed over a century ago, is an example of the engineering and architectural splendour of the early 20th century. Renowned for its unmatched grandeur, it’s often ranked among the world’s most prestigious train stations. But over time, it fell into decline, eventually shutting down and closing its doors to the public

    The Renovation

Barcelo Hotels & Resorts envisions a future that preserves and celebrates Canfranc’s legacy. Their vision was very clear: Transform the station into an extraordinary hotel, offering guests an immersive experience that blends historical elegance with contemporary comfort.

    The Process

The renovation of the Canfranc Station into a hotel was a labor of both dedication and love. Architects and designers worked meticulously to restore the building’s original details, from the decorated ceilings to the majestic portals, making sure to preserve its historic essence.

    The Interior of the Hotel

Restored chandeliers light up the hotel’s lobby and reception, casting a warm glow on the marble floors. Every detail — from the plush velvet seats to the elegant wall décor — was handpicked to celebrate the resort’s architectural heritage.

By the other hand, the reception desk itself is a masterpiece of manual craftsmanship, with an intricate woodwork.
