Best Music Festivals in Spain for Spring-Summer 2025

In this article we are going to talk about the best music festivals in Spain for Spring-Summer 2025.
If there is something that excites us every year, is that the good weather arrives and with it… the festival season. That time when you change the alarm clock for bracelets on your wrist, the office for a stage, and the “I’ll get up early tomorrow” for “see you in the electronic tent”.
And watch out, 2025 is coming strong: there are great line-ups, new festivals that are earning their place, and others that are coming back stronger than ever. If you are thinking of going on the road or at least escaping to one or two weekends, keep reading because I leave you an honest guide, with key dates and some advice that is worth gold.

MAY – Primavera that Sounds like Hymns
1. Warm Up (Murcia) – 2 and 3 May
It’s like the starting signal of the season. Murcia is full of music, cold beers and good vibes. It’s not as mainstream as others, but that’s part of its charm. Besides, the city lives it intensely.
Perfect if: you like national indie, comfortable festivals and want to start the year without stress.
JUNE – Now it’s getting Hot (and Sweaty)
1. Primavera Sound (Barcelona from June 4th to June 8th)
What can we say about Primavera. You either love it or hate it, but if you are one of the former, this year promises to be a great year. Big names are coming, yes, but also many hidden gems, sessions at the CCCB, and that unique atmosphere that only this festival knows how to create.
Tip: if you’re overwhelmed by the lineup, choose just one or two days. And go with comfortable shoes, really.
2. Sónar (Barcelona – June 12 to 14)
Sónar is more than a festival: it’s a futuristic experience. Electronic music, art, technology… and people who come from Berlin or Tokyo just for this. If your thing is more visual, experimental, or you just love electronic music, this is your place.
Super tip: there is a Day and a Night Sónar. Choose your strengths wisely.
3. Mallorca Live (June 12 to 14)
A perfect excuse to escape to the island. Beach, concerts at sunset, and a quite varied line-up. From mainstream artists to more alternative proposals.
Ideal plan: take a few days and turn it into a mini vacation.
JULY – Festival High Season (literally)
1. Mad Cool (Madrid – July 10 to 13)
It’s gigantic, yes, but well organized. And this year the line-up is very serious: among the names are Arctic Monkeys, Rosalía, The Killers… The international vibe is brutal, and although it’s Madrid in July (hot, yes), the atmosphere makes up for it.
Veteran’s advice: arrive early and do not underestimate the distances inside the venue.
2. Bilbao BBK Live (July 10 to 12)
This one has a special charm. You go up the Kobetamendi mountain, see the city from above, and the music sounds among the trees. It mixes indie, electronic and weird stuff that end up being your new favorites.
The best: the secret concerts in the forest. Literally magical.
3. FIB Benicàssim (17 to 19 July)
A classic. Brits in flip-flops, late-night concerts and the beach nearby. The FIB is still alive, and this 2025 comes with the desire to regain the festival throne.
Ideal if: you are into international vibes and want to combine beach and music without complications.
AUGUST – The Month of Festivals with Personality
1. Sonorama Ribera (Aranda de Duero – August 6 to 10)
Another classic, but with the soul of a small town. Aranda is transformed for a week, and it is impossible not to fall in love. Lots of Spanish indie, lots of wine, lots of “I don’t even know what day it is”.
Great plan: tapas during the day, concerts at night, and everything within 5 minutes walking distance.
2. CanelaParty (Torremolinos – 20 to 23 August)
Here you don’t come just to listen to music. Here you come to dress up, uninhibited and laugh. It is a festival where no one judges you, everyone is dressed up and the atmosphere is the freest you will experience all year.
My advice: go with the desire to leave the “postureo” at home.
SEPTEMBER – The perfect closing
1. DCODE (Madrid – mid-September)
This is like the last dance of the summer. Only one day, but intense. Very comfortable, good atmosphere, and perfect to see your favorite bands without leaving the city.
The best: everything is close, and you can sleep in your bed if you live in Madrid.
Which one fits you best?
– If you want something big, with powerful names and thousands of people, Mad Cool or Primavera Sound.
– If you are looking for a closer, authentic and uncrowded atmosphere, Sonorama or Warm Up.
– Fancy some costumes, madness and zero prejudices? CanelaParty.
– Beach + music? Mallorca Live, FIB or BBK Live.
Bonus: Real Tips for Surviving Festivals
– Don’t wear new sneakers. Never wear them.
– Bring earplugs to sleep, even if you are one of those who “sleep with everything”.
– Take screenshots of the line-up and schedules, as coverage sometimes comes and goes.
– Stay hydrated and eat something substantial, a bag of Doritos is not dinner.
– And above all… go with good people. Music unites, but colleagues make you remember all.
